November Pack Meeting Moved to 11/8 (plus t-shirts, MD Science Center Camp-In and Scouting for Food!)

Hello Pack 1862!

It was great seeing so many of our families at the camp out last weekend. Thanks to our Cubmasters and all the parents who volunteered to help make it a success! There are a lot more fun events coming up soon – see below for a few important updates, and let us know if you have any questions.

Pack T-shirts We will be placing a new order of Pack t-shirts this November! If you are interested in ordering t-shirts for you or your scouts please complete this Google form and submit your payment via Zelle (treasurer.pack1862@gmail.com) or by bringing cash or check to our next Pack meeting https://forms.gle/9cwW1AS36uSFLEdD8.

Maryland Science Center Overnight Event It’s time to sign up for the 2025 camp-in at the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore. This is a really fun event where the kids get to participate in hands-on activities, see an Imax movie, and spend the night in a museum! Check in is at 5:15 Saturday evening, and we’ll wrap up at 9 AM on Sunday morning. Attendance also gets you free admission to the center all day Sunday. More details are available here https://www.mdsci.org/learn/programs-for-scouts/camp-in/. This year our pack is planning to go on March 15, with April 26 as our backup date, if March 15 fills up. Scouts in grades 1-5 (sorry, no Lions) can participate. The cost is $65 per person (so, $130 for one scout + one adult). If you are interested in attending please RSVP here and provide the names of each attendee: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0F4CA9A923A5F85-52398722-pack RSVPs and payment are due by Friday 11/8, so that we can submit our group registration and hold our spot. You can pay the Pack by check, cash or Zelle.

Scouting for Food 11/2 and 11/9 at 9 AM Scouting for food this year will be Saturday 11/2 (flyer distribution) and Saturday 11/09 (food pickup and sorting). This is an all-hands-on-deck activity and each year Pack 1862 collects about 5,000 lbs of food from our community to provide to the local food bank – making a direct impact to those in our local community who don’t have food security. More details will be forthcoming, but please RSVP now to help us start planning https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F0F4CA9A923A5F85-52398094-pack

November Pack Meeting 11/8 6:30 PM Cub Run ES Due to school being closed on 11/1 we are shifting our meeting back by one week. We will meet in the cafeteria to work on our Physical Fitness and Nutrition adventure requirements with some fun games and activities!

We are also planning a Pack Hike later in November, to enjoy this great fall weather, so stay tuned!

Yours in Scouting,

Kristin
